![]() 1922-2008 Sincerely, Ronnie Greenberg My thoughts of Jack Narz are among the most positive of anyone I've ever known in television. And I mean that to encompass not only the game arena, but all of television. I didn't have the privilege of knowing Jack until long after I became a host for games. Then it was through brother Tom (Kennedy) that I met Jack. I found him to be among the gentlest and kindest people I've ever known. The fact that he was strong enough to overcome the horrendous setback dealt him during his days as host of "Dotto" following the game show scandals, is strong testament to his enduring popularity with the American television audience. He came back to host one successful show after another.....with his usual charm and style. Always easygoing, what one saw on the small screen was the real Jack Narz. Long before I entertained the idea of hosting a game show, I looked upon Jack as the ultimate professional. My life was blessed for having known him personally. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Wink Martindale This is very sad...another one is lost....not many of the veterans are left. Marc Summers A life and career well lived. Mr. Narz was not just a host, he was a fine broadcaster....one of the last of the early-generation emcees I saw when I started watching quiz shows in the early 1970s. Dave Mock For the master of lighting up the board and beating the clock, Jack was one of the true masters with a golden voice and a solid personality to boot and no matter which game show he hosted or participated in, he always shined with a great sense of humor and a smile that lit brighter than a Christmas tree. I record "Now You See It" almost every night its on (the ultimate late bloomer game show!) and I am constantly reminded of the pleasant nature of Jack and how much fun he had throughout it along with what he brought to many other game shows he got to host and be part of. It's that pleasing environment, along with not falling literally in the Dick Van Dyke category of tripping down those stairs, to show that is a pleasure to have had him in our homes to see and many cannot think of a world without him and we still won't be for his spirit and his shows are there for all of us to see and there's a lot to love about them all. On a side note, I have a game show talk show that usually leads into many weekends, and I use a quote from Jack to end all my shows and it came from "Now You See It" when the first contestant broke the bank on. His goodbye being on a Friday show was "HAVE A SWINGIN WEEKEND!" and that is always my indication a part of Jack Narz will always be with me with every broadcast that I do and now it will be even more so. Thank you Jack for all the good that you had done for game shows and beyond and rest in peace Jack! My condolences to the entire Narz family from the bottom of my heart! Sincerely, Christopher Bligh I'm writing this with tears in my eyes, something that has not happened over the passing of so many greats in my lifetime. Everyone who has ever worked in broadcast, journalism, TV/radio will always find someone that they (consciously or not) emulate in one way or another. Jack Narz was the one who I'm proud to say influenced my career. In this age where you have to be loud, funny, fake, or just plain obnoxious to make it on tv I always felt a calm, genuine persona in Jack Narz that is lost today. He was himself, a gentleman in every sense of the word who was the classic example of a host. He understood he was a guest in the viewers home and behaved as such. I would not welcome into my home most of the "hosts" on television today. The game and the contestants were the star, not his ego, not his need to be funny and the center of attention. God Bless you, Jack Narz, sadly this is the end of an era. Shawn Wilsie To the Narz family: I remember the Father's Day tribute about Jack and others on tvgameshows.net, and appreciated hearing about what a great father Jack was, despite the rigors of television. Clearly a class act in every way. The first time I enjoyed Jack's talents was on "Now You See It," a show I still love to watch, and also "Concentration," a show I hope we will see again. I also hope to see some of his earlier work sometime. To me, Concentration was perhaps Jack's best work, and as a young boy it was appointment television for me after dinnertime. He always included the viewer, and made the contestants shine. I am thrilled that he was honored by Game Show Congress and knew how highly he was regarded. My condolences go out to the Narz family, including the family of his brother Tom Kennedy. Jack will be missed but he lives on in our memories and our hearts (and on repeats). Scot Duvall Louisville, Kentucky I wish to pass my condolences to the Narz family on this tragic loss. I was not around when "Dotto" or "Seven Keys" were on the 1950s and really didn't get to watch Jack do "Now You See It!" " or the syndicated "Concentration" in the 1970s. Thanks to GSN, I was fortunate to enjoy Jack at work on "Now You See It!" in reruns. I liked hearing and seeing Jack at his craft here. I can hear how the Narz brothers perfected their voices for this field. May God and Jesus welcome Jack to his heavenly home and give comfort to the Narz family. Sincerely, Marie Lazzara I wanted to pass along my dissappointment and sadness about the passing of Jack Narz. I only in the past approx 5 years did I become fully aware and familiar with Jack's work. I guess I was too young - only 4 or 5 in the early 70's - and vaguely remembered some of his work on "Concentration," but only realized who he was upon seeing some old clips of his "Concentration," "Now You See It," and as a panelist on "Password Plus." I was recently really enjoying his NYSI work - replays late night on GSN, and he showed his true professionalism. I had hoped I would get a chance to maybe attend a gameshow convention function - I never have attended such an event - and congratulate him on his work. Sadly, this won't now happen. I'm sorry to hear of his such ill health most recently - I didn't know his condition until hearing of his passing. May god bless him, and watch over his family - including Tom (Jim). We have all gained from his professionalism, and I will always remember his work - the little of it I've seen.
